Quick Tip: Installing Exchange 2013

Hello Everyone,

It’s time for another TDSheridan Lab Quick Tip! Today’s Quick Tip is about Microsoft Exchange 2013. So you’re installing Exchange 2013 into your environment, this could be because you’re migrating off of an older version of Exchange, or you want to add some redundancy into your environment. You log into your company’s Volume Licensing Portal and see that you have the install media for Exchange 2013 SP1 and you also see that the current build of Exchange 2013 is CU8. Now your thinking you have to factor in extra time to update Exchange.  Good News! that is not the case, look at the solution below to save some time.

Solution: If your planning on Installing Exchange 2013 you can download the latest cumulative update and install Exchange using the cumulative update install instead of the Microsoft Exchange 2013 Install media.

Each cumulative update is a full installation of Exchange 2013 so you can easily install Exchange and have it be up to date in one step. Below I provided the link to Microsoft’s Exchange 2013 Updates page so you can always download the most up to date cumulative update.
